Year-End Survey Results

Late last year, we asked our customers about their music ministries and how we’re serving them. With almost 200 respondents, here’s what you told us:

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Almost three quarters of you are volunteer (31%) or part time (43%).
  • Almost all of you (98%) have choirs or vocal ensembles. Almost 60% have less than 20 in choir; almost 40% have more than 20. The average choir size is 17.
  • Two-thirds of you have worship teams. While the average worship team has 5 members, a third of them have less than 5 and the other third have 6 or more.
  • 39% are Baptist, 29% are Methodist, and 11% are mainline (Episcopal, Presbyterian).

WHAT YOU USE:

  • 75% of you perform Christmas musicals and 61% perform Easter musicals. 17% don’t perform musicals at all.
  • 89% of you use our Choral Anthems, 46% use our Praise & Worship songs, 26% use our musicals and cantatas.
  • 83% of you use SATB arrangements, 57% use 3-part, 44% use 2-part, and 32% use unison versions.
  • Almost 10% of you use Discover Worship’s music more or less exclusively and 60% of you use DW 50% or more of the time.
  • 70% of you prefer to access the site on your desktop computer, 23% on a notebook computer, and about 7% on a tablet or smart phone.
