A Prayer for Palm Sunday

Prayer for Palm Sunday blog header.jpg

Lord, as we commemorate your entry into Jerusalem...

Humble us as we remember that your greatness was defined by your humility:
You preferred to ride on the foal of a donkey than in a royal chariot.

Convict us as we remember the doublemindedness of the crowds:
You were greeted by a cheering multitude that would become a jeering mob.

Encourage us as we remember your intentionality:
You chose the road to Calvary before you spoke the world into existence.

Inspire us to worship as we remember your passion for us:
You laid down your own life so that we might share eternal life now and forevermore.

Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!

Amen.
