3 Ways to Save Time on Admin Tasks

What do you do when you're hired to lead a worship ministry and all the administrative tasks are added to your to do list?  What if the budget doesn't allow for a part-time administrative assistant? Consider these steps.

1) Interview someone within your worship community with the skill-set needed who may enjoy the opportunity to be a helping hand. Having an assistant is great unless you have the wrong one. Landing someone with excitement, who is fun to be around, is great but if they don't have any more organizational ability than you then it's not the right person. So, be thorough in your search.

2) Learn how to add a bit of detail to your life. Chances are if you're really creative then details probably aren't on your list of most enjoyable things to do. However, we are all capable of learning. So, consider asking someone you know who has administrative skills to help you put a plan together for your week and month. This is a great way to learn something new. And most of us know someone close to us who would love to assist us in learning the art of organization.

3) While you're working on the above considerations, talk to your pastor or leadership about the specific needs you have for administrative assistance. If you're the only one who knows what you need then finding what you need is nearly impossible. Asking and presenting a need often finds a solution.
