Sometimes the most unlikely things inspire a song. In 2012, the non-profit group Invisible Children created a short film to draw attention to the African cult and war criminal Joseph Kony, who has enslaved tens of thousands of children as prostitutes and child soldiers. To date, “KONY 2012” has been viewed over 100 million times, bringing worldwide attention in hope that he will be brought to justice.
In contrast, I wondered what it would be like to bring attention to our Savior—the Liberator of humanity? What would it be like for every ear to be filled with the sound of His worship? Words and music began to take form: Can you hear the sound of worship all around? Chains fall down. Lives are changed. The broken shout the Name, the Name that saves! Can you hear the sound of worship?
I hope this new worship song helps fills the ears—and hearts—of your congregation in worship
