Looking FOURward: September

A little preliminary work now and a little thinking about the months ahead will save some anxiety and last-minute panic. I know it's probably still pretty warm, weather-wise, where you are, but it's not too early to be considering, among other things, Christmas!

Here are 4 priorities for September:

  1. Recognize Labor Day. Ask choir members to share with the group what their first job was. Or have them write down their first job and have fun guessing who belongs to that particular job
  2. Begin rehearsals on Christmas music. Select and assign special roles such as soloists, narrators, or dramatists. Maybe a special extended rehearsal to introduce this music is in order. A week-end retreat?
  3. Make preliminary plans for publicity, decorations or set design you may have in regards to the Christmas season.
  4. September is National Square Dancing Month … I dare you!

Paths, you know, lead us somewhere – sometimes to where we really want to go and sometimes to unknown and unfamiliar places. With discretion to guide us and understanding to guard us, Solomon wrote: Then you will understand what is right and just and fair – every good path. (Proverbs 2:9)
