Looking FOURward: February

Congratulations on thinking ahead and communicating with your peers on a regular basis. It's paying off, isn't it? As they, say: nobody plans to fail, we just fail to plan.

Here are 4 priorities for February:

  1. February includes Presidents' Day. During one rehearsal, have various choir members read significant, spiritually-based quotes from founding fathers. Let choir members guess who originally said what. And for those readers who are bold at heart … do it in costume!
  2. Order the materials you'll need for the Lent and Easter seasons.
  3. February also includes Valentine's Day. Emphasize God's love as you format your services.
  4. Spend a little time studying other worship styles. What can you learn from them and adapt for your own purposes?

Prioritizing our time, our energy and our efforts is simply the best way to give back to God what He's blessed us with. I hope you're taking the time to exercise those areas that you are especially gifted in. Even centuries ago, the writer of Proverbs 24: 27 understood this: Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.
