Looking FOURward: June

Summertime – when the livin' is easy – is a great time to do some “big sky” thinking. I hope you'll use this month to accomplish some things without the pressure of quite so many responsibilities.

Here are 4 priorities for June:

  1. Go to a kids' ballgame. Soak in the unrestrained enthusiasm. It will lift your spirits, and just might give you fresh insight into what working as a team is all about.
  2. Rest. Take a vacation. Even a 20 minute break in your day can do wonders for your energy.
  3. Inventory your music library – retrieve lost copies of music and order additional copies to fill out your needs. Check to see what instruments in your church might need tuning or repairs.
  4. June is National Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month. It's the perfect time to plan a fellowship meal following rehearsal that features snacking on all fruits or all vegetables, or of course, a combination of both.

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. We'd all like to be able to say that we live and work according to this principle, and we probably would … if it weren't for those pesky distractions. I'm hoping this month affords you some time to focus on your priorities and your relationship with your family and with God. He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement. (Proverbs 12:11)
