A Prayer for Worshipers (inspired by The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father in Heaven,
We adore You because
You have made us Your children
By giving Your one and only Son--
Who lived the life we should have lived
And died the death we should have died.

By His atonement and resurrection
We have been transformed from orphans
Into fully adopted sons and daughters!

As Your children, we marvel at your love and mercy.
We are astounded that You invite us to call You Abba, Daddy—
That we can crawl up into Your arms
And sing You Your favorite songs.

So let our anthems herald Your Kingdom’s coming into our world.
Let our spiritual worship be the kind of true obedience
That reveals Your heavenly character here in earth.

We praise You today for meeting today’s needs.
Help us learn to forgive others so as You have so richly forgiven us—
That our worship may be acceptable to You.

Let us not be tempted to glory in how we worship
But rather, let us glory in You to Whom all praise is due.

We join our earthly voices with the throngs of Heaven, who cry,
“Holy! Holy! Holy! Is the Lord God, Almighty!”

For Your Kingdom
And Your power
And Your glory
Is endless!

Amen.
