Fifteen years ago, a volunteer choir director in a small rural church in Ohio wondered why finding great music for his congregation had to be so expensive, time-consuming and inconvenient.
VINCE: He realized his wasn’t the only small church facing this dilemma.
He did some research and discovered that—of the 300,000 churches in North America—more than half of them had 75 attendees or less! Like his church, most of them just didn’t have the budgets or staff that larger churches could afford.
And yet, he wondered, shouldn’t smaller congregations have great church music, too?
REGI: The good news was that--even though he was a volunteer choir director--he was also a smart businessman.
So he and his team set out to provide smaller churches with otherwise very limited resources unlimited access to thousands of great songs.
VINCE: He began building the most affordable, quickest, and easiest “total music solution” for smaller churches.
Discover Worship became America’s first all-online church music service.
