I love talking about music.
Each Tuesday your weekly update is full of new music and carefully chosen staff picks. In fact, if you and I were to meet I’m sure music would dominate most of our discussion. I think we would all agree, as music directors and worship leaders it’s important we find new music, rehearsal tips and other helpful information to keep our edge so to speak.
However, there’s another matter that’s more important: finding our way to God’s presence on a daily basis. It’s imperative that we keep our relationship with him alive. When it comes to our music ministry, learning music isn’t all there is. If our only focus is rehearsing we will just become good musicians.
Rehearsal is for getting the notes right. Worship is about connecting our heart to God's.
I encourage you to utilize a portion of your weekly rehearsal to pray together. And, find that opportunity to worship together through song. I think you’ll find that rehearsal, prayer and worship in conjunction together have a way of creating a powerful sound of worship.
