It is always exciting to see God’s people gather to learn more about the ministry of music. It was an honor and privilege this year to be a part of the “Alleluia” Conference in Waco, Texas. Even though I was a leader, it was three days of restoration and encouragement to me, musically, emotionally, and spiritually.
First of all, the event was musically thrilling. Getting to lead choral reading sessions in a beautiful chapel filled with 300 amazing singers was exhilarating in itself. The unity of text and music is a beautiful thing.
Reuniting with friends and colleagues and making new acquaintances is always rejuvenating in its own way. Catching up with those we love and cherish is good for both us and them and reminds us the value of relationships.
Most importantly, being in a sacred place filled with elements that point us to God is an experience like no other. The Word, the music, the prayers, the fellowship – every moment provided opportunity for a worship moment.
As we seek to improve our abilities by attending an event we inevitably grow in every aspect of our ministries. May we always strive to hone our craft, better our skills, tune our hearts – all the time growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessings on your ministry and work this week.
