I simply cannot comprehend standing in the physical presence of God. Certainly we experience the presence of His Holy Spirit in worship, but try to imagine what it will be like one day to stand in His presence face-to-face. What a day that will be!
Consider these passages from the book of Psalms:
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. ~ Psalm 97: 5
The earth shook; the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. ~ Psalm 68: 8
One of our choral offerings this week draws us to that promise of the future, urging us to sing, “How marvelous, how wonderful! And my song shall ever be. How marvelous, how wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me.”
