Recently something made me wonder, “What if my Dad had been [insert name of famous person]?
I begin to think about how my life would be different in so many ways – socially, emotionally, family, etc., not to mention the financial implications. It seems as if that person had been my dad I would have everything I need.
Suddenly I realized I have an even better “dad” in my life than the one I was imagining. Because of my Heavenly Father I have far more than I could ever hope for or dream. I am part of a wonderful family of fellow believers. Despite any emotional condition I find rest and comfort in God’s Holy Spirit. God’s riches are far greater in value than any amount of money I could ever own. So I am blessed and grateful for my Father. Incidentally, I am grateful for my earthly father who taught me these values. Because of that, I am doubly blessed.
As Christians we sometimes wonder how people make it through life without a spiritual guide – a father to lead them. As we collectively minister to people, may we always point them to the Father of life.
In John 10:10, we hear Jesus say these words: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Point somebody to the Father this week and help them be grateful for life in Him.
