This Christmas, Discover Worship is honored to present two new Christmas works for your consideration. The first is entitled "Be Joyful All! — A Christmas Mini-Musical." Next week, our blog will spotlight the second musical, "A Christmas of Poetry & Song." Both pieces rely heavily on poetry for narration.
"Be Joyful All!" is a traditional to blended 20-minute SATB work that's the perfect accent for an Advent Sunday or Christmas Eve service. Reverent yet festive, this 5-song mini-musical invokes our worship of Christ in response to his coming as an infant that night in Bethlehem.
For: Adult Choir
Length: 5 songs/20 minutes
Style: Traditional to light contemporary
“Be Joyful All!” begins with an optional handbell arrangement of the French carol “He is Born” followed by the first of four short poetic narrations from Paul Lawrence Dunbar’s classic poem, “Christmas Carol.”
The easy to medium difficulty arrangements are penned by Phillip Keveren, Dennis Allen, Kyle Hill, and Jeff Lippencott. A downloadable video accompaniment track is also available if you’d like to invite your congregation to join in the final carol medley.
