Looking FOURward - August

The end of one thing is the beginning of another. In our case, the end of summer means the beginning of a new school year, and most likely a new season of ministry for you.

Here are 4 priorities for August:

  1. Download Christmas musicals and anthem and begin printing copies for your singers and musicians.
  2. If you've taken a rehearsal break, think of how resuming rehearsals can be creative and fun. A themed-based first rehearsal? How about a beach party?
  3. August denotes “Back to School” month for most of us these days. Include some time in a rehearsal to have choir members share their funniest or most unusual school-related story.
  4. This is the time to secure any additional equipment or musicians you may need for all your Christmas presentations. If you're engaging outside musicians, remember that their schedules get pretty full in December.

As we all get ready to re-start a new season of ministry, it's pretty important to keep first things first. Our old friend Solomon knew this: The fear (reverence, respect) of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. (Proverbs 1:7)
