Looking FOURward: October

It's October already? How did that happen? I hope you're finding these little ideas useful for your ministry. Most of these are tried and tested through personal experience. (And I've got the scars to prove it!)

Here are 4 priorities for October:

  1. Distribute your October – December schedule of anthems, solos, etc.
  2. Select, recruit or inform your tech crew (sound, lighting, etc.) regarding your Christmas presentations. Everyone likes a timely “heads-up.” Walk through logistics with them on a regular basis.
  3. October always includes Columbus Day. Lead your choir or worship team in investing themselves in some special mission or outreach project, taking their ministry to a “New World.”
  4. Publicly recognize and thank ushers, greeters, and any others who, by their service, enhance and enable the worship experience of others.

I've referenced it before, but our plans can fail pretty miserably on their own. That's where reliance on God comes into play. Aren't you glad to be involved in something bigger than you are? Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
